Michal Halcin, Dipl.-Ing.
Hello
My name is Michal Halcin.
I'm a curious person. I want to know how things work.
I'm anautomation engineer. This is my personal website.
About
I come from The Tatra Mountains, Slovakia. Let's check out this view »
When you don't find me at my full time job during week, I'm most probably hiking in the High Tatras or Alps, eventuelly exploring beautys of Bayern. In evening hours you likely find me at a gym doing fitness or giving and getting (this probably more) punches at box. And in late weekend hours, my next usual activity is to relax having a beer and to talk about really "important things" with friends.
Education
I studied at the Slovak University of Technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
I completed the second level of higher education in the study field Automation in 2017.
Master's thesis
Topic of the master’s thesis was a design and control of mechatronic system.
The mechanical design was made by Catia V5 and AutoCad. Most of plastic assembly parts were printed by a 3D printer.
The control alghorithms of the system were made and simulated by means of the MATLAB and implemented in a 8-bit ARV micro-controller Arduino. This was partly a target - to implement different methodes of control on a cheap platform.
A part of the thesis was completed on intern-ship at CentraleSupélec, University of Paris-Sacley in France on the 3 months program Erasmus+, where I learnt and implemented approaches of a advanced control of mechatronic systems known as interpolating control (IC), as well as model predictive control (MPC).
A small technical description (Abstract):Design of an advanced control technique with emphasis on computationally and memory efficient algorithms suitable for deployment in embedded microcontroller platforms. Implementation of the so-called interpolating control of multi-dimensional mechatronic systems with fast dynamics. A practical comparison of control performance with the next control techniques on the real constructed system.
This master’s thesis was awarded as the best in the study field Automation by the Dean of Faculty.
Bachelor's thesis
The goal of my Bachelor's thesis was a simulation design and a synthesis of control of temperature field in a foundry form by using of a co-simulation. Project was oriented in the fifth zone of the foundry form (entire system is composed by 5 zones). System contained one input and one output (SISO system). By using the software, a response on a action jump was performed. By means of that, a identification of the specific zone was performed. The next step was a synthesis of PI controller with simple structure and its application in the control of foundry form by applying of the co-simulation.
Student's project
During the last year of bachelor's study, my project for accomplisching of a school subject 'Databases and internet' included developing a website named ozivpc.eu. The website was designed to offer refurbished computers and other parts in purpose to increase performance of older, but still "living" and useful computers. The website included a SQL database of users and buying cart. With the help of this page, about 30 computers found new and satisfied owners.
JOB
From August 2019, I'm working as an automation engineer at MCM Automation GmbH located in Dachau, Germany.
A project oriented company providing software development and commissioning services in the field of automation. Worldwide, of course.
• Yaskawa Europe GmbH (9.2020- up to now):
Complete on-site sw construction, commissioning, trouble shooting and problem fixing of a production line for truck exhaust systems at a new factory. Line composed by 45 robots, conveyors, safety etc. Team leadership, reporting. Application by the TIA Portal and WinCC Advanced.
Place of work Subotica, Serbia / Simmersfeld DE.
• BIAS Elektrotechnik GmbH (5.2020-9.2020):
Concept design and development of a new conveyor system control for the Audi Press Shop.
Development tool - TIA Portal and WinCC Advanced.
Place of work Wolnzach DE / Ingolstadt DE.
• Yaskawa Europe GmbH (9.2019-4.2020):
Commissioning and partial programming of robotic welding cells. Application by the TIA Portal, WinCC Advanced.
Place of work Allershausen DE / Ribnica, SLO.
From August 2017 untill July 2019, I was working as an automation engineer at Heitec Slovakia, a branch of German company.
My main responsibility was to develop appropriate software for especially single-purpose machines according to customer's requirements. That involved commissioning at customer's site, as well.
The project before dealt with pressing of metal balls and ending rods on cables used in car gearboxes. In addition to these projects, I performed a IO check of production lines containing robots and also commissioning of smaller stations for teaching basics of the Beckhoff Twincat software.
Certificates
During projects, I graduated the robots programming training and participated at a commissioning of ABB robot.
The next training I accomplished was programming of Adept robots in Dortmund, DE. I dealt with 4 axis scara and 6 axis articulated robots and did their commissioning and tests.
For a purpose of safe and more flexible machine design, I accomplished the training of Simatic PROFIsafe PLC programming in Siemens TIA portal v15.
